The calendar has turned to August and thoughts turn to the "Dog Days of Summer". School has begun in some parts of the country, but August is still some of the hottest days of the year. Steamy, humid days, the kind that will make you feel like you've showered with your clothes on. Thunderstorms are a frequent reminder that summer is here. The approach of the peak of the hurricane season nears. For others, August means one thing: pumpkin spice lattes. Why this is, I do not know? I mean, there is nothing about 95 degrees with 80 percent humidity that screams, "get me a hot steamy mug of pumpkin sweat and cinnamon!" But it does. I beg you! Gain your sanity and hold off until at least September.
